How I Created These Pointy Sequin/diamond Nails for My Sushi Photo shoot…
Continuing my food project with photographer Rich Hinton where makeup and hair is inspired by food we wanted the next look to be Inspired by ‘Sushi’ and to make it that extra bit special I wanted to create some awesome nails taking inspiration from Sea Weed and from the exact design I created on the eyebrows (above right picture).
How I created the nails:
*Using false nail tips- purchased from http://www.sallyexpress.com/ They were then measured to fit the models finger nails. Each nail was then filed into a pointy shape.
*Each nail was then painted individually using NUBAR nail varnishes purchased from www.beautyshed.co.uk Shade ‘Greener’, ‘Wildlife’ and ‘24 k’ was all over lapped together whilst wet to create a marble effect. The sequin & gems were finally applied whilst each nail was wet. Sequins and gems were purchased from www.simplysequins.co.uk
*Latex glue was applied to the false tip- keep away from actual nail glue for photo shoots as you want to remove the nail easily at the end of the shoot. The false nail was then applied to the models finger nails. To blend and bring the final look together I used the same nail varnish to carefully apply sequins, gems and glitter.
*Finally apply Nubar Diamont Seal & Shine Top Coat in order for the sequins/gems to stay in place ad to make the nails look glossy on set.
Keep an eye out for my next blog post on how I created sequin eyebrows on this photo-shoot.
